Floyd Yamamoto
President and Board Chair
As President and Board Chair of Gulf & Fraser, Floyd continues to support the credit union's goals in providing exceptional service and benefits to its members and supporting local communities through many worthy causes throughout the lower mainland, including schools, community associations, Richmond Hospital Foundation, BC Children's Hospital, Burnaby Hospital Foundation, and the United Way.
Floyd believes that one of the most important keys to success for Gulf & Fraser is their employees and he is proud that Gulf & Fraser is recognized as one of BC's Top Employers.
Floyd has been a member of the credit union for over 25 years. Floyd has served as Vice Chair, Chair of the Compensation and HR, Investment and Lending, Marketing and Election Committees. In 2022, Floyd was elected to President and Board Chair.
Floyd has a solid understanding of the credit union system, board governance and information technology, through working for Gulf & Fraser, Stabilization Central Credit Union, and his over 20 years of experience in the IT industry.
Floyd and his wife Sheila are longtime Steveston residents and are active in the community, as a director and advisor to Wisteria Housing Society in Steveston, YVR Environmental Advisory Committee, and the City of Richmond Advisory Committee on the Environment.
