Mutual funds* are professionally managed investments that pool your money with other investors to provide access to a full array of investment types and effective diversification. Diversification allows an investor to reduce the volatility of their investment portfolio while historically generating higher returns over the long run when compared to most guaranteed deposit products. Mutual fund* returns and income may not only include interest income, but also may consist of tax-efficient income such as dividends and capital gains from the fund's sale of securities.
